Dr. Amanda Perofsky

Amanda is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health’s Fogarty International Center. She researches how social animals share the bacteria in their stomachs, which required her to climb around the jungles of Madagascar so she could collect the poop of wild lemurs! On top of her research, Amanda is an avid music collector and she hosted two different radio shows during her PhD, Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye which showcased Amanda’s experimental music tastes, and They Blinded Me With Science through which she helped other scientists to practice communicating their research.
